nice article(http://taskumuro.com/artikkelit/the-...f-nokia-meego#) in the last paragraph, it states that "Google wouldn’t have let Nokia have any advantages for joining the Android platform". Although, it is true; however, it is not necessary a negative thing. By being in the WP camp exclusively, Nokia has to fight TWO major opponents at the same time instead of 1. If you are on Android, the base O/S 'free' for everyone, the eco-system is there; so you just need to compete by having better h/w and/or better additions/customization to the base O/S.

well in the end, as the article says, Nokia is all-in - it is sink or swim time.

When mobile devices grows more powerful they are able to handle desktop applications. It's easier to create touch versions of cad, paint dev suits for Windows since the applications are already available. Or simply attach keyboard/mouse. Windows have that advantage. I'm not sure how Android will handle that transition or if they ever need to. I would go with Windows over Android with anything without small screen mobile devices.

Lets just say everything will be much easier if they didn't dump many of the standard Linux desktop components (X, dbus, proper GUI toolkit support, glibc, proper package management with dependency handling support) while making Android.

The tablet was released. Look for RIM PlayBook.
