I've been having timeouts too -- remember that problems with Akamai might be regional, though.

I have the same problem, the repository seems to be down...?
fakeroot apt-get update is ultra slow, getting an Ign for each repository after a timeout.
[sbox-FREMANTLE_X86: ~] > fakeroot apt-get update
