Hey peoples, just a little note to say that it looks like the ScummVM folk have released ScummVM 0.11.0 and it has official support for OS 2006, 2007 and 2008!

You can grab the .deb here: http://scummvm.org/downloads.php

Here's some of the new features:

* Support for the FREEWARE adventure Lure of the Temptress (available for download here)
* Seven other new supported games: I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream, Elvira 1 and 2, Waxworks (Amiga version only) and 3 Sierra pre-AGI games for children
* Two newly available ports: iPhone and Maemo
* Support for the Mac version of The Legend of Kyrandia and the Amiga version of Nippon Safes
* Better support for Sierra AGI games
* Improved support for modern 64-bit systems
* Support for FLAC encoded music in Broken Sword 1 for the purists among you
* Better support for non-English versions of games, including eastern languages
* Sound compression for SAGA games
* Much much more. See the release notes for the full list

Sorry to disappoint you but you are better off with the 0.11.0-1 version in maemo repository or the -2 one from http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/#scummvm both are newer that the -0 one at scummvm site (as the scummvm download page correctly suggests). And BTW 0.11.1 is due next week so it makes no sense to put -2 (or the -3 one I have on my disk :-) to maemo Extras repository.

Sorry, no. There is of course full screen mode but 640x480 games run at 640x480 and 320x240 games run doubled at 640x480 too. Games that use only 320x200 run at 640x400. Scaling those to 768x480 would be possible but such non-integer (*1.2) scaling would look blurry/ugly IMO.

Ah I know I've thanked you many months ago when I was using ScummVM on my N800... but I just wanted you to know your work is greatly appreciated here. Everyone I show it to goes crazy when they see Full Throttle running on the tablet.

Hi, just to let you know that there is 0.11.1 version on my page
http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/#scummvm

This is built from 0.11.1 release in ScummVM SVN tagged yesterday. Version in Maemo Extras repository will be updated at the day of official release - 2008-02-29. For 0.11.1 news see NEWS

Please test and report issues here.

Maemo related changelog:

scummvm (0.11.1)

* upstream 0.11.1 release
* mapping for N810: zoom+ = menu for all games (except FW)

scummvm (0.11.0-2)

* mapping for N800/770: zoom+ = y, zoom- = 1 (all games except FW)
this fixes save dialog in BS1 and also allows to exit some games via 'y'
* mapping for N810: zoom- = rightclick for all games
* updated to revision 30849 from 0.11 branch (some bugfixes for 0.11.1)

OK, we had official 0.11.1 release yesterday so now you can get 0.11.1 package also from http://scummvm.org/downloads.php, http://downloads.maemo.org or just by updating in application manager. No issues reported so it is still the same package as in previous post.

Great! Just checked it out and now I can create the save game names in BS1. Thanks!

Updating thru App manager is easy, too.

I'm confused, how do I add games? I have Monkey Island 3 on a cd but how do I transfer it onto my N800?

See http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles for files needed fro specific games.
Copy files to mmc card somewhere (like scummvm/game/). In ScummVM then click "Add game" button and navigate to /media/mmcX/scummvm/ , select game folder and click "Choose". In 'mmcX' the x is 1 or 2, depends on which card (external/internal) you use.

For tablet specific issues check also http://maemo.org/community/wiki/scummvm/, for general issues (like how to copy and even compress games, MI3 is large and compression can cut disk requirements to ~500MB) check main scummvm site http://www.scummvm.org/, they also have forums there.
