You can only install either an .install or .deb file to your tablet.

Most people just use the repositories instead and install them through the Application manager under "Settings".

Thnks. Its a pity , I tried to install Scype which I have in the Documents>Program Files>Skyp-PPC.exe but the tablet can not open it even through the Applicaion Manager , which says installation file is corrupted. So I can not have Skype...

Windows XP and Maemo 4 are two completely different operating systems.

And why the pity? You can install Skype, just follow the instructions like I already posted to you before.

I tried and saved the Parents directories of the repositury(1st link) and the catalogue (2nd link) to my Documents to my PC, but I could not save the 3rd one (says temporarily unavailable). . I suppose I have to wait for the third link to be available and then connect the cabel to the USB port to my N800 and try toreload them. Am I right? Is there a kind of Extention converter from WinXP to Maemo? best
