I just saw in the german technical specification that the hole on the front that looks suspiciously like a camera really IS a VGA webcam.

Seeing how Telepathy is in the stack, Maemo devices have supported XMPP until now and the Jingle XEP is finally a Draft I personally wonder whether this will enable us to do standardized real XMPP video chatting with the pre-installed software.
It would be really annoying (for me) if this only worked with the Google Talk protocol or Skype.

Other thoughts on the use-cases?

The N810 uses Farsight1. I believe Maemo5 has switched to Farsight2.

Indeed Farsight 2 is there, including libnice etc.
The libraries to do a lot of great stuff are definitely there, I guess we'll have to wait what the device really can do out of the box though.
