Looks like most of the developer tools got updated. I had six updates to the dev tools.

Um, a total newbie question coming your way ...

how does one update or even check for updates if you aren't in developer mode?

Also, how does one figure out which region one's N9 is from?

just go to manage applications, and in the second tab there is for updates, just refresh and they should appear.
