I have had no luck with the Ovi trick. Ovi does not recognize my N9. What am I doing incorrectly? I installed the old version of Nokia Ovi Suite with my internet connection disabled.

This is one of the reasons why I never liked nor used Ovi Suite. It's just so inconsistent and just messed up.

I suggest you just use the old PC Suite. Been using it on my n9 with no problems. I'm using version 7.1.62.1.

To the both of you did you remove everything related to Nokia's stuff (flasher not included) before disconnecting the internet and following the directions here:
http://everythingn9.com/how-to-get-y...suite-3-2-100/

I had to remove everything, meaning the Nokia Link, the Nokia Suite, and the Nokia connectivity drivers.

I removed everything (used the Systemsettings > Software list of windows.). How ever it might be that there are still some config files around. Since I try to avoid Windows I am not caring to much about all its stupidity and inconsistency..

I just updated to Nokia Suite 3.3.89 and found that it works with the N9 over both bluetooth and usb.I tried syncing notes and it worked fine.

However it didn't show any contacts, but that could be because I am syncing to google contacts over MfE.
