Okay the N9 can create playlists, but it's very annoying that I have to add songs manually!

Does anyone know how I can edit the playlist that the Nokia N9 media player creates manually - so I can add all the songs in ONE folder to one playlist.

Help would be much appreciated.

Or where the .pls/.m3u file is stored so I can edit it.

I don't know where the built-in media player playlists are stored (and I don't understand why a Playlist folder gets created in MyDocs also), but I have developed SigmaPlayer which plays songs in a folder and reads m3u playlists stored in MyDocs.

I've solved it - BUT you need a PC to do this and a little know-how.

Lets say you have 1 mp3 in in folder MyDocs/Music/mymusic.mp3

Go onto your computer and create a playlist from these songs .m3u playlist (google how to do this - I just used Amorak in Linux)

Now lets say you want to put your playlist in the MyDocs folder so then you need to edit this playlist (open it with notepad++) and do a search and replace, what you need to do is REMOVE the ABSOLUTE path and replace it with a relative path.

Simples.

Yes it's very important to replace absolute paths with relative ones, else playlists appear empty on the N9.

For OSX I found out a very neat way to modify and add (smart-)playlists automatically on N9 with iTunes. It's published on our website: Use iTunes with N9

Did someone find out where the on N9 created playlists (must be .pla format - since NokiaLink creates them too) are stored?

Hi,

It seems to be here: /home/user/.config/Nokia/Music.conf
