Dangit, sorry guys. I keep neglecting you all. I suppose I'm going to just have to sit down and see if I can't fix up my N900 with the broken USB port, so I can test with it... I don't see myself having $150 for a new device any time soon, and I kind of need one for testing due to needing my main device for other stuff.

I think council should ponder to sponsor a "new" development N900 for you. Alternatively, community done stuff like that on short notice on their own, in just 2 days.
:-)
I'll see what can be done.

I'd appreciate it(and feel indebted to you guys).
You guys all have done plenty for me already, though, so don't feel you have to do anything.

I take that as a "thank you, it will find good use on my side when you actually want to send one to me" (which I honestly think council/HiFo should do)

What would be super cool is if we could somehow repackage our backups to be directly flashable kernel and all, one blob sent over the USB cable and we could have our complete config back as before no matter how bad we messed our N900 up.

Once you have that, the process is as follows:...

the link http://robbiethe1st.afraid.org/BackupMenu/ doesn't work for me.

does anyone have a mirror of the blank rootfs and optfs images that were there?
