Dangit, sorry guys. I keep neglecting you all. I suppose I'm going to just have to sit down and see if I can't fix up my N900 with the broken USB port, so I can test with it... I don't see myself having $150 for a new device any time soon, and I kind of need one for testing due to needing my main device for other stuff.

What would be super cool is if we could somehow repackage our backups to be directly flashable kernel and all, one blob sent over the USB cable and we could have our complete config back as before no matter how bad we messed our N900 up.

It -is- possible to convert a BackupMenu image to a Nokia Flasher rootfs image, but it requires a Linux PC with mtd-utils.
Once you have that, the process is as follows:...
