but this is due to the fact that when we started the project plasma mobile was still stabilizing and was not ready for even a tech preview !
Maybe you still think that is true but there is now more focus on plasma from upstream KDE and from the wider Ubuntu/Kubuntu communities so we felt that a tech preview would be ok.
We will get some documentation done on how to install to a device (N900) before 10.10 is finally release so you can play around with it. Plasma Mobile rocks!!
Eagerly waiting!

I saw a plasma desktop demo for the N900 at the 11 FISL and found it more interesting than all other approaches, including maemo, iOS and meego.

How long do you think it would take for it to be production-quality stable? ;-)

Always been a Gnome guy and though I tried KDE I never really liked it enough to replace Gnome and E17.

But, judging by the screenshots, this distro looks very suitable for mobile devices and all in all looks well done. If it delivers what the screens and movies at youtube promise, this would be a very nice OS alternative.

Downloading the ISO right now!

It's also stated here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Packaging/Guid...debian.2Frules

which was reiterated recently http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=109

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

I would appreciate it if someone makes a detailed video of this running on his N900.

Tried running it in Suns´Virtualbox (32bits) on Ubuntu 10.4 (64bits). It would start to boot but never got past the cursor just before X.

Anyone else had trouble running this in VM?

I got it working on VirtualBox, without any type of problem.
