I now get this error...

/home/user # apt-get install fennec
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Handler silently failed

I've had this problem before but have never gotten to the bottom of it.

I get this as well (as well as with fapman). It is due to changes to apt-get made by Nokia to prevent installation from certain repos such as Ovi. Why the fennec nightly repo triggers this I dont know.
Install the prog. "aptly" and it will do the job for you.

Try "aptitude install" instead of "apt-get"

I don't think "apt-get" will work for fennec. Most people have gpg problems with their repo. To get 4.0 you need to "dpkg -i" and download the .deb-file.

As root:
dpkg -i /path-to-the-deb/filename.deb

Like Wikiwide said.. if you are not sure you could find the correct path by:

sudo find / -name "fennec*.deb"

and then

dpkg -i /path/that/find/found/fennec<version>.deb

You don't need to do this.. there are easier ways.. but it is good to know.

And what is the difference between fremantle and fremantle-qt version? Is one of them faster/more stable/different looking?
