Don't know this is a virus-freed download or not:

http://www.fastsum.com/press/md5-hash.php

But a search on "MD5 hash checker for Windows" will give you some hits!

BTW, I just do an update from AppMgr to update "Maemo 5". Why do you need to re-flash it?
Do I really need to re-flash the N900 to have PR1.3?

No. Updating over the air is much easier, and doesn't required you to back up and restore (because the flashing wipes the device back to factory default settings).
The update should show up for 'OTA' updates on the device in your country soon (if not already).
Just be patient and let everyone else find all the problems and fixes :-)

[still waiting for UK variant of 1.3 :-)]

Does the MD5 hash of the file you downloaded match the one given in http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php?f=MD5SUMS ?
If not, you need to download again.

Time to call Nokia for support!

md5 is like a human's fingerprint. If it's different than the given one then its either fake or not authentic.
