After using n9 for few months I decided to go back to n900.
Generally i have the feeling that n9 was big step back in comparison to N900.

I liked design, bigger amount of ram and better processor was nice, but i have found n900 still impossible to beat in terms of usability and functionality.

Main cons of n9
-no fm transmitter
-Gui not bad, but not so comfortable as hildon, my finger was tired after using it.
-Still lacks a lot of ported applications, some of them probably never will show on n9 (e.g. aircrack, preenv)
-Processor is not so much better than overclocked n900
-not to good flash player
-annoying stock browser
-less storage than in n900

N9 pros:
-internet radio application
-design + lighter than n900
-better RAM+CPU

So for me n900 is still best phone around
Just want to share with my thoughts

I feel the same way. I have the N9 since February and the N900 since fall 2010.

N9 is a phenomenal device, both in design and UI.

But the N900 has that "something". That "something" you can't easily describe in words. It is the most joyfull device to use imo.
In 2012, it still delivers.

I will use a Sega Dreamcast slogan: "It's thinking!"

There is a fm transmitter - you just need an app for that, as it was not included. E.g. 10 secs on google and here you go:

As for storage - if you get 64 GB version, I think your argument would be invalid :P

You're confusing fm-radio with fm-transmitter.
totally different things

the radio receives. the transmitter ...transmits

*as for the memory, N900 has 32gb internal + you can put up to 64gb cards in it.

so 32+64 = win

I like the N9, but I pointed out the other day that the N900 has about five apps that help you create flashcards, the N9 has ZERO.

FBReader on the N9 is a fraud compared to the same program on the N900; for example there is no easy way to copy a word to look it up in a dictionary.

And don't forget, how much better is the N900 screen?

Look at all those non-distinguishable pixels forming a solid colour division!

omg!

It's funny, because I just recently got myself an N900, and while there are things I like about it (faster processor and more memory at the top) overall I find it to be a step back in many ways from the N800 that I'd been using for the few years before that. At first I assumed a lot of it was just unfamiliarity with a new UI, but after 2 months or so of using it daily, it still seems much less polished than the N800.

Makes me wonder if the 770 was truly the best NIT.
