Hi everyone
these days I pulled out of the drawer my n900 to give new life I tried to install carman with the procedure

1 sudo gainroot
2 apt-get update
3 apt-get install libeet1 = 1.2.2 + svn41533-maemo1
4 apt-get install carman

found in this thread

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...=37259&page=31

all right till the point 3, but when I try to install carman finding this error:

Carman: Depends: carman-ui (> ~ + 0.7 pre-alpha-1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken pakage.

in the thread I saw the same error is encountered but not resolved ..
I also tried the manual installation downloading the .deb files directly from the repository

http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...free/c/carman/

without success .. can anyone help me please?

P.S. I installed pyOBD, it works but I would try carman ..

I don't believe that the version in the repositories can be made to work. If there ever was an installable N900 package of Carman, it's not here, and I've never found it elsewhere.

I have gotten a version install on an N800, but without GPS it's just not all that interesting except as an engine trouble code reader -- and other, simpler apps can do that just fine. I looks great, though. And of course reading the N800 screen in a car dashboard setting in daylight is another matter.

Sometime in between that video being made and late 2014, the needed libraries have been lost to the internet black hole. Your only hope is to find someone who can provide the missing dependencies, and it's been almost a year since that was requested with no response. If you do find it, please post about it.
