I read a suggestion to epoxy the connector, or something. Is that still recommended?

because charging was finished, I unplugged the cable
The n900 usb port came along while doing so.
When I put the cable incl. usb port back into the n900 and shuffle a little bit arround it starts charging.

I also "demolished" an usb port out of a broken blackberry, using a hammer and scissor.
With thisone slided on the chargingcable i'm also able to charge, altough I have to shuffle a bit more.

I' gonna buy external charger (DT-33)

it's a sad sad situation

My usb port got broken few days a go and I am been contact seller, Nokia and service and it looks like if I get it to service it will be replaced by E7 which is imho not acceptable it should be similiar phone back and symbian is not similiar and it has half of the memory and half of the resolution of screen so whatta hell is this how Nokia acts with it's customers?
Any I deas from this? I am From Finland so any suggestion is welcome.

I've sent my n900 to the Nokia Laboratory today,
I've asked them to repair it or give me another n900 or at least
to give my n900 with broken usb back to me because
N8 or E7 have worse hardware and software.

I've done as Mr Van Delay of nokia.europe.com support told me: I've e-mailed support.discussions@nokia.com
and after some days the Nokia Italia has called me by phone. They have listened to me and they are helping me to get my N900 repaired.
Today, eleven days after my first visit at the Nokia Point Via di Decima in Rome, I've brought my device at the Nokia Point via dell'aereoporto 86 in Rome and they have sent it to the Nokia National Laboratory in Naples.
For September I will have my device back repaired or, if the repair can not be, displaced.
At this link look for vandelay's post of 17-feb-2010-09.56 am

I'd try hassling them for an N9 or N950.

Yes, N900 is equal only to the N900 and is inferior to none.
So I've asked to repair it or displace it with another N900
or give me back the money i've paid.

N950 should be an adequate substitute
Good Luck.

My usb port also broke but problem is NokiaUSA is not repairing it because it's passed warranty. I tried complaining and telling them it's ridiculous that the phone shouldn't be repaired even after warranty since it's a manufacturer defect and it's their responsibility to repair/replace it.

Hi,
post your problem at this nokia support discussion and also at his nokia email, and add your contact details, they'll ask Nokia Care management in USA to look into this.
