I just wrote this in comment at:
http://www.jollausers.com/2013/11/ho...fish-ui-on-n9/

Then I realized must of the stuff is also valid in nemo on N9. What seen so far from testing latest images is:

Its upto the community to make:

1. GFX driver with Wayland work smooth most important issue. So if you are a GFX hacker start work

2. Make GPS work (those bits are closed source so we have to reverse engineer that stuff because GPS lacks public specs how the Nokia propirairity binary protocol works

3. Make NFC work (same here the daemon in Harmattan is closed source, maybe we can use midlayer from android via libhybris? or rewite from scratch? or use another thirdparty NFC linuxstack?)

6. Make camera work again right now its not working sice X11 -> Wayland AFAIK

8. Make USB SDK mode not disconnect

Can anyone tell the meaning of below code which don't work in Ubuntu:

'numeric-owner' which numbers?
'nemo-handset' + half a file name 'armv7hl-n950-*.tar.bz2' ?

sudo tar --numeric-owner -xf nemo-handset-armv7hl-n950-*.tar.bz2 -C /media/Alt_OS/

ref Nemo: http://wiki.maemo.org/Ubiboot#Moving...g_Filebox_Root

or else how to extract files/Nemo OS image to Alt_OS. Trying to unpack in Ubuntu gives message: no permisssion/you are not the owner of Alt_OS

The --numeric-owner option just tells tar to create files with original permissions.
As for not being able to access ALT_OS, are you sure you got it mounted correctly?

I had it mounted correct but now made mistake and running into trouble= FATAL: Re-partitioning failed! You might be in trouble!
I have looked here and followed instructions:
https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nem..._in_trouble.21

sudo flasher -k ubiboot-zImage -l -b run without problems
But can't find log and can't made fdisk

In Ubuntu only se Partition 1 (MyDocs, 54GB) and 3 (home, 2GB)) in Windows (Paragon) I se also Partition 2 (rotfs, 3,99GB Free space) but red and no access possible!

I can load N9 with (your) openmode kernel.

But....what to do about mess in partitions?
