The "-dev" packages could not be installed because of broken packages.
Can you fix?

I'm running latest firmware on N950.

Ok, I'll check it out.

BTW, I have found a few items of interest regarding the problem with triggering the virtual keyboard with GTK on the N9 and N950.

http://taschenorakel.de/michael/2011...upport-maliit/
IIRC Maliit is the input method used on Harmattan, might not be relevant because of the old GTK version (coming from Fremantle). I have tried to build a more recent GTK but got stuck on the dependency hell (mostly represented by various Gobject Introspection packages). This is how far I got.

Bug 18619 - Virtual Keyboard does not appear for GTK+ apps (meegotouch-inputmethodbridges) - this is a (fixed) MeeGo 1.2 bug. Again, as MeeGo 1.2 != MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan I don't really know how this translates to our issue. Also I have no idea if that meegotouch-inputmethodbridges is even used for input in Harmattan.

Basically, help from someone with deeper understanding of GTK and/or Harmattan is needed & will be much appreciated!

People, I believe we really should finish up the gtk+ port.
I'm running pidgin in my N950 from a squeeze chroot and it's working great!

So, are you going to share how you did it in the open-mode thread?
