During call I must reduce volume to half to avoid echo in receiver end. So it seems that there is crosstalk/sidetone from too loud earpiece speaker to microphone (to uplink).

Which files defines parameters for earpiece?
- hp.parameters
- hs.parameters

Otherwise working well. Thanks!
hp.parameters controls the earpiece, I did make it slightly louder, but nothing noticable. If it's rely a bother try changing

x-maemo.ear_ref_padding = "-5555"

to -3333, (default setting).

I changed hp.parameters to default, but I was not sure does hs.parameters have some impact to earpiece too.

Are my guesses for prefixes right?
hp.x = headphone
hs.x = headset

hp.x = headphone
hs.x = headset
infandheadset.x = headsets
hp.x = earpiece

hs.x...this also controls headsets, but which types...I dunno. The n900 has a number of ways it detects headsets and compensates for them in alsa mixer. hs has no effect on earpiece.
You can tell by looking at the values, whether they say "control" or not, for example.

Headphone:control
Earphone: off <--means file has nothing to do with ear piece.

Hope this helps

No need to re-run the script, it is stored from the first time you run it.
