In case this is an overdiscussed topic, i'll keep it brief (havent been keeping up with media center). Launching from browser occasionally crashes, and media player shows error at first (ignore error)... but when the stream starts to play save as media bookmark (type video) so you wont need to do the glitchy browser launch routine again.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, if theres a list of 2008 compliant video streams let me know and i'll add there but i think these streaming links never worked before 2008. Mplayer cant play them which is understandable since im sure they are doing weird http connections at wwitv, which fortunately the 2008 media player can navigate.

You open the links in the browser and the media player will open up and play. Then you can save it as a media bookmark in the media player.
For many tv channels that work well, install kmplayer and worldtv99.

thanks for responding, giladmttw. that didn't work for me. the browser opened up to out of date or empty links. i then tried saving the urls and open them from mediaplayer and i got a message "unsupported file format". but surprisingly, then mediaplayer updated my mp3 playlist (800 files) on its own for the first time in almost a year! shortly after this the tablet has now crashed/frozen. i already have worldtv / kmplayer installed. i'll try pasting the urls into that if/when the tablet recovers. edit: that does work for some of them.
