Try using the "search" feature on the index page of this forum. I did using the phrase "charge via usb" and got several pages of relavent threads. The tihird thread listed (Modification: Charge via USb) indicates that this is not possible without a small circuit modification or possibly a special cable which may be available.

Nope, Nokia did not design the N770/N800 to charge via USB port.

I use a usb phone charger with a nokia head on it to charge it at work, but you'd need a separate usb slot for data transfer. No wiring involved
