Ok been looking at this media player very closely... 2 things. 1 Im not sure of the command line to install it to my phone so some help there as me being a newb to linux I dont want to mess up my mother of all phones.. And 2 Please tell me it has a EQ built in???? this is a must!!!. also I saw in a few videos of the short cut to the stock media player they used to contain in the bottom right corner a 3 bar spectrum analizer... what happened to this feature I thought it was very neat. Do we have this in the open one?

ok, so there it isn't any other way to install it, only command line but it's safe if you do everything as witten in the first post. If you don't want to use it as defaultplayer only install it and do not touch this file:

After the initial release of the stock media player, during one of the PR updates, they replaced it with a different icon because it was misleading.

Oh yeah, amusing story. It's just a looping animation, the bars don't show any actual audio level info. Its "purpose" is that it animates when music is playing, and is static when stopped.

I've been working in this great player:
Fixes:
- Video playback always in landscape mode (MAG did it in gitorious, but it was not fully corrected)
- FM transmitter (new dialog, the default one always crashes)
- Sharing files in Now Playing window
- Minor bugs in Now Playing window
Changes:
- Main window - Portrait mode (includes number of songs, clips and stations)
- If you are using an icon-pak, the playes uses its icons
- Text center-aligned in portrait mode in Now Playing window
- Ellipsis text on large items
Adds:
- Automatic tag album art (folder.jpg file in song folder) in database
- Change album art in Now Playing window (selecting the file from device)
- Fetching lyrics from internet (same Foobar2000's LyricsDB database)
Stay tuned...
Now I have a question for all of you:
Can you check if "/home/user/.mafw-playlists/2" file is always the current now playing playlist?

No, it isn't, afaik I already noted that in the code.
I already made a method, MafwPlaylistAdapter::assignAudioPlaylist() for that.
