if you want any smaller solution, how are you going to plug the thing into wall socket and remove it afterwards? slenders solution is about as small you can get with good old wall sockets...

dude, nothing inside an AC to DC adapter "bends much" and is going to squeeze into a cable... lol
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_adapter
i'm pretty sure they put the components in a protective shell so people like you don't electrocute yourselves! seriously, you want a cable with capacitors and a transformer bulging out of it? WHY??
never mind, i don't want to know, i'll assume you're high or something.

buy this instead: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.48827

if the brick isnt in the cable, it has to be in the device. and you do not want that.

i guess one could squeeze it onto the whole length of the cable to not have a big brick, but then the cable would be unusually thick.

but it has 4 ports, which is nice.

There are some flexible electronics out there, and like i said, the stuff that don't bend much would be on the thicker part, the part that doesn't bend much.

I'm looking for somthing like this not for practical reasons, i just think it would be a nifty thing to have.

It's not possible yet but maybe in 5-10 years. We already have laptop chargers down to the size of cellphone chargers, and cellphone chargers are getting smaller too.
