also last i checked(probably a few months ago) the ovi suite can download maps for the n9 without issues

Not that i'm certain by any means, but i THINK the maps are new'er then that. Certain roads i drive have been changed, had roundabouts added and such, in just the last 3 years, and these are somehow in the N9 GPS maps.
Also, stupid as i am, i keep having "maps" search for updated maps every now and then. It goes past real fast, stating that i already have the latest version, so it seems to work.
