At the end of the last month of warranty, my N900's microUSB broke. And It is been a month I am forcing Nokia care to replace it with a N900 or any other PROPER, EQUIVALENT device. They proposed E7, I dismissed their offer. I wished for an N9 or N950. But they have now provided an option, Lumia 800.

1. Now my concern is, I have a lot of data (especially contacts and other stuff) which I couldn't retrieve due to broken USB. How can I have it transferred to any other phone now? (Atleast I have the backup I took using backup menu tool).

2. Which one is a better option, E7? or Lumia 800? orOr any other new options I would ask them for?

3. Does anyone of you think they will still have an N900 in their warehouses and I can press for one?

P.S: I live in Chennai, India. N9 is ruled out geographically, I guess

1) transfer your data to memory card ?
2) i you want a keyboard go for E7 or else try getting Lumia 800/900 or Lumia 820 (if you can), since N9 is ruled out
3) probably yes.

Okay, here is how it is now.

1. I have a backup taken using backup menu, as well as the stock backup tool But can I use those to restore contacts and calendar stuffs to other phones? Ovi will help?

2. For me, both E7 & Lumia 800 looks dumb phone. Lumia 900 is out of the price tag compared to N900, so they wouldn't obviously give me that. And 820/920 all are just in 'Coming soon' status. Pureview, again not in the same price tag.
3. They have been trying since 4th oct and couldn't fix my usb hub back onto the board. Also, they tried to swap the board with an Old n900 board, whose IMEI found to be from England and is more than 2 years old already. I didn't want such an unprofessional replacement. So turned it down and escalated the problem. Asked for a new N900. But they don't find one in India they say.

both e7&800 are not worthy replacements...

My suggestion would be take the 800 as its a more fluid experience than the 680Mhz of the E7...

If i was you i would take the 800 sell it and buy myself a n9 as 800 has a higher resale value than the e7...

I personally wouldn't consider a Lumia 800 an option nor a replacement.

Ask them for a true replacement.

I would buy thedeadman's idea But I think it will come with almost no warranty(just 13 days remaining).

Gerbick, what could be a proper replacement? N950 with 64GB memory?

Do you think they'll give you an N950?
