Pali, are there any scripts/doco lying around that merlin used to do previous releases?
It's a tad daunting to jump right in without any sort of guidance.

Well, it is not like merlin1991 was kidnapped by aliens, he just don't have time to be cssu maintainer anymore.

Without asking him in advance, I am sure he will help the new maintainer to get used to the tasks

I was mostly asking so I could go through the steps and see if I was capable of doing it and doco/scripts would definitely make that easier.
I've done a bit of packaging and building from git but building the cssu package seems a bit more challenging.

I am sure there will be lots of help given to whoever ends up becoming the maintainer.

* build new packages under clean scratchbox env (no extras, no devel)
* upload them to testing server
* update your (testing) device and test changes that new release will be OK
* wait some days
* if everything is OK upload packages to cssu repository

No, it is not, you just git clone && dpkg-buildpackage. The only care you should take is to keep your SB target clean from anything else but CSSU material.

Definitely.

That's easy enough.
I've already scripted the cloning and pulling from git.
I'll set up a new vm to do the building over the next couple days.
I guess this is my official offer to be cssu maintainer.

Another actions:
* maintain & update CSSU wiki changelog/release notes
* track bugs, comment and close those which are fixed by CSSU release
