UPDATE 2010-02-01: Available now in extras-devel repo!

UPDATE: .deb package (OUTDATED) available in garage

UPDATE: Garage page just opened https://garage.maemo.org/projects/cutempc/

Version 0.1.5 features:
* Portrait mode
* Collection browser
* File browser
* Fetches album cover art from last.fm

Known issues:
* Collection doesn't always show up correctly (or at all), but a database update from menu should fix it.
* If connected to remote MPD it may take very long to load the playlist (if it's very big) and you can't do anything while the playlist loads.

Features to come:
* Scrobble to Last.fm (there's already settings for username and to enable scrobbling, but it doesn't actually scrobble yet)

Hi,

new to Maemo, but not to Debian GNU/Linux, I would like to install your MPD client.

First, I have to add devel repository to install libqt4-maemo5-*.

But now, when I try to run cutempc, I have the following error message :
Code:
cutempc: error while loading shared libraries: libQtMaemo5.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
It's the only one missing library (ldd confirm me that).

(and for the moment, I can't use apt-file to search it.)

Where can I find it ? Thank you for your mpd client, I really want to test/use it.

Regards,

Is this software still in development?

Because I need an mpd client and would like to get involved with it

Yes, still developing. I think I could make a project in maemo garage so you (and others who are interested) could participate in the development. I'll try to find time to do it during this week.

Now this project has a garage page https://garage.maemo.org/projects/cutempc/. It currently doesn't have anything other there but the source in SVN. If someone likes to participate in developing, let me know.

could you move this on extras-devel for a safer build?
or provide a dpkg with dependancy check?

Yes I could, I just haven't never done such thing before so I need to study it a little first. And I also need to do the same thing to libmpd because there is only very outdated version of it available in repositories (and cutempc depends on newer version). I try to get this done in couple of days.

Okay, I finally got the deb packages done for libmpd and cutempc, check project's garage page. They worked fine on my just flashed device, so I think there shouldn't be problems with the packages.

It still would be great if you could introduce it to extras-testing (which should have Qt 4.6), so it is easier to test the application. And then later to extras-devel and then the extras repository ...
