How about the N9 feature in fremantle? Is it possible? I know the os can recognize swiping from the bezel. Can we hack in a daemon that switches to the next app upon swipe?

Well, I'm currently thinking about adding this as a way to turn pages in my manga/comic book viewer.

No, that would mess up the idea of os-wide usage

You can switch between windows with Shortcutd with this command:
Code:
matchbox-remote -next
using a single click of the camkey or covering the proximity sensor.
But swiping would be fun

so, writing a daemon to watch touch all the time is possible? or does the application have full control? Where could I start testing this? Can python do the job, or do I have to use plain c? Any answers appreciated.

I would start looking for programs that monitor mouse gestures

Gesture based multitasking, such as in WebOS or MeeGo would be awesome. Why? Some MeeGo and WebOS apps are running on N900 and it'd be nice to have them minimized.

It be awesome as a part of CSSU.

I use this since 1 year. It's dirty hack but it recognize swipe from right side (in portrait from down side) and same gestures with ctrl button pressed. Unfortunately it's sometimes crash.
