Hi just wanted to start this thread, so people can safely and securely open and close the back cover. So far I just have done it once, when I first got it. Personally I don't want to do it again just in case I break something.

Could somebody post a youtube video to showing the proper way of doing this. I'm sure alot of people have had difficulty in this.

Thanks

I am quite confident that the best way of opening the back cover is covered in the manual as well as on the sticker that comes on the device. Even that I don't have it yet ...

imho the best way to open the back cover is to just to keep open it in any way, because after awhile the plastic will - at least was the case for me - become softer and the back cover will open easily by using nails alone. (at first it was hard to open and i was afraid to break it. it didn't break though. and the summit advice seems to have been to use a credit card).

Very carefully. I've already had a tab partly break.

I thought the process was quite smooth.
Just follow what's in the User Guide.

If you break something, take it to Nokia Care Point and blame it on the User Guide, you'll get free replacement.

I just press into the indentation, the cover pops loose and then I pivot it open like the instruction shows.

Yeah I just got the n900 and was scared to load the battery cause the cover refused to come off. Now that i have done it a couple of times it has seems to be a little easier.

Heh, that reminds me of those shows where someone's breaking in. I think its because of the gloves.
