I've been somewhat wondering if/when another 2008 OS update would show up as well. I didn't really see much talk about Nokia continuing to push out updates for Diablo while working on Fremantle. But, there was probably a thread I missed somewhere.

I'm actually really diappointed about the lack of SSU updates. When it was announced, I figured a bug fix update would be put out every week or so, but that hasn't happened at all. So, when will the next update be released? No one really knows...

You haven't seen the end of SSU updates.

Well, Nokia is still in the "big release" mindset. I get the feeling that this may be changing—glacially-slow, as with everything Nokia—but it is changing. For the time being we may have to suffer along with only slightly-more-frequent update releases but, hey, at least we don't have to reflash.

Actually some have a fairly good idea.

The updates have not stopped. SSU is not dead. You'll all understand soon enough.

But, yeah, releasing SSU updates as fairly frequent hotfixes would certainly be reasonable.

Elephanta was cancelled. The next major OS release will be Fremantle. Alpha SDK will be shipping in November. Beta SDK - and possibly some on-loan developer devices - in about 2Q09. Release suggested about start of 2H09.
