I am an avid Linkedin user, and would love to integrate the contacts from Linkedin with my N9. An app to view profiles, news etc would also be great.

There was one app (QML based) under development for the N900, announced in July...but that seems to have died and has little chance at this stage to come across to the N9.

Anyone know of anyone else working on this, or is willing to try and build something? It is out of my league - but happy to help where I can.

Seconded! Before launch it seemed to be a built in feature, not sure what happened.

There is an app - but it's (somewhat) broken. It's called LinkedUp - and the reason why I say it's broken is because you can't write messages to contacts whose length exceeds the distance from the top of the editing screen to the top of the virtual keyboard. Any text that exceeds this simply remains invisible. The usual tricks (keep hitting return until the text starts scrolling up or even trying to scroll manually) don't work either. Also I don't think it allows profile updates.

Doesn't look like the app is being developed further, at this point. Anyway, here's more info: http://competition.meetmeego.org/submissions/44

Yes it does, problem solved! Why do people say they need apps?

Ah... for things like contact integration?

The mobile web page is fine for most things (I much prefer these generally to apps), but there are some things that need to be integrated into the device - Skype, Gtalk, Facebook etc. Integration is one of the things that makes the N9 work so well - full integration so there is one set of (merged) contacts accessible from anywhere in the device.

Yes, I know, I was being funny. I have my doubts about integrating friend-social and work-related social. It goes too much down the rabbit-hole.

Bump! I'd love to be able to sync my contacts on LinkedIn the same way Facebook does. One of my favorite features is the ability to add a name and number and find all their other contact information has been filled in automatically. Is the LinkedIn in API support of this functionality still?
