Its strace.

I have also created a bug:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11542

Email worked for a while after reflashing and restoring backup. But after restoring also earlier installed applications it didn't work any more. I have no clue which application causes crashes.
However leaving that kind of assertions into production code should not be acceptable.

I didn't figure it out. Strace is in the dev repository which is why I couldn't find it (not the typo). It didn't give me any clues.

My fix was a flash and restore. This has held since, but perhaps it will happen again.

there is a solution that worked fine for me..

1) start the terminal window

2) run the command : ps | grep 'modest'
note down the process number for the first row returned by the above command

3) run the command : kill <process number found above>

after this if you run the second step again u can see that modest has already restarted with a new process number..

now try starting the email app.. it shud work fine..
hugs n kisses dude

That's easy. Stay away from pr0n sites. The N900 does not have enough beef to handle them.
