Hi,

I was wondering if someone can offer some advice.

The proximity sensor will not engage, however when i cover it i can see the screen darkening, and when removing the cover it goes back to normal brightness.

anyone know what i can do in this situation?

thanks in advance

Is this the issue.

I was looking into a problem with my proximity sensor recently.
I found since replacing the main ribbon my proximity sensor seems to close with strong white light.

The screen should dim if this area is covered.
There's a light sensor to make the screen brighter in sunlight.

Use this in terminal to test the hardware.

Code:
while true; do cat /sys/devices/platform/gpio-switch/proximity/state; done
I have the opposite issue of the screen goes black while making a call.
