Hi,

Are there any Meego 1.2 based tablets available in market?

Here is my "dream" tablet spec.

CPU: 2.0GHz dual-core
RAM: 2GB
Storage: 64GB

Wireless: 802.11 B/G/N
Input: 2 USB (Can be also used for external devices like keyboard and mouse)
Display out: 1 HDMI

Display Panel: Super AMOLED (Multi-touch)
OS: Meego 1.2 or 1.3 (future)
(Dual boot with Android ICE CREAM SANDWICH)

TV-OUT

What do you think about my idea?

Thank you for sharing ur ideas.

Do you have any idea where I can buy WeTab in North America?
I visited the WeTab site, and I couldn't find any online shop in America.

That's too bad. I don't know why Nokia killed Meego.

WeTab will switch to Tizen when available, according to the vendor.

Wetab is a peace of crap anyway. And Meego1.2 is a joke without Maemo6+QtComponents/SwipeUI. But I dont want a Intel crap CPU on a tablet thats for sure...

ARM is the future...

Its ****ing biggest joke ever that Nokia dont release a Maemo6 Harmattan based tablet. I am sure it could sell very well and give us alot of coolmade Qt apps.

But as long as there is biggest freaking idiots directorsboard inside Nokia, where the masterplans seems to be turn Nokia down, it will not happen

I agree! I think Nokia needs to think again about quitting Meego. Seriously! Nokia should visit MAEMO forum and carefully listen to us. I don't like Android or Windows Mobile because they have not much freedom or flexibilities as Maemo or Meego OS does. I love my N900 because of the OS. I love QT apps. I hope Nokia will continue on Meego-based tablets and phones.

I've been running an install of the WeTab OS on an ExoPC. For what it is, I think it's ok. But hey I just use it for pdf's (has adobe reader 9) and twitter with twimgo. And some light browsing.

It was a free dev model form intel.

I like weTab's GUI...with thumb scrolls...even if it feels a tad too...German. And the keyboard worked better than any MeeGo release I tried for Pine Trail.

It's not up to the spec you want though. And battery life sucks. But the OS drags it out well enough.

I haven't bothered with the android virtual machine, as I haven't found a work around of the needing an android machine linked to my google ID to use the main market. Nor does the install work on mine. But hey its in beta.

The hardware ought to support proper multitouch, like 10 touch instances -- last I checked, but it doesn't seem fully implemented in weTab. This might be a firmware issue though. As it feels like 2. And some apps like Gimp only recognize 1.

So yeah if you can get a cheap ExoPC -- sign up and install weTab.
