It is evolving. He went from saying WP7 was going to be Nokia's savior to where WP8 is the path that will get them there to where it's now WP9 will invariably be the version that Microsoft gets more of a stake in the mobile market than previously ever before...

See. That's called a changing strategy.

What isn't changing is short windows of support. Saw the dates yesterday, wish I could remember where, and it looks like WP8 will be supported into 2014. WP7.8 will get support for a little longer.
