I made a pretty nice one I think....

I am really thankful and I'd love to use the icon.

Do you happen to have an SVG version?

P.S. I am really sorry for the delay in releasing new versions. I am just a bit busy with work and family issues

heres some probably not too useful feedback from heavy usage over the last few weeks:
1) night mode is perfect, and zooming videos is a huge boon

2) another oddball thing that would be really useful for me:
i could really use a toggle for recursive DCIM descending.
so i organize my photos right in the DCIM by event. most of the time, i just want to see what photos are loose in the root of DCIM, but occasionally i want to see the subdirectories contents.

3) i move the focus instead of capturing the pic ALL THE TIME, sometimes while looking right at it. fat fingers i guess.

id use the vol+ button, but its too awkward for one hand without covering the lens.

here are possible some solutions to this problem:
-make the capture button larger {like, twice as big, srsly}
-make it so you need to drag the focus target from wherever it is, instead of just touch a spot on the screen

4) most of the time, im really happy that the picture doesnt rotate with accel.
but OCCASIONALLY, i really want to see the pic rotated.
a rotate button would be perfect.

I apologize for the delay but I have been extremely busy lately. Work and life related matters but here is 0.0.11
* Enable Harmattan specific image post processing algorithms
* Reset focus reticle when face detection is disabled
* Don't show positions for last detected faces when face detection is disabled
* Fixed a bug that caused changes in camera settings to be ignored upon start up

So from now on, any changes in settings (flash, exposure, iso, ...) should persist across restarts

Great app!

Would it be possible to make the front camera show the right way when taking a pic when in portrait mode
(also the icons to have the right direction) ?

I don't know how I missed replying to that.
1) I am glad you like them
2) That is not a problem to add. It doesn't hurt the normal performance in any way
3) I have the same problem when tapping on the back arrow and sometimes the shutter button. I tried to enlarge it but it looked really ugly. I guess I need to thionk of a way to redesign this part.
4) I am trying to find a way to make imaes auto rotate but nothing yet. Would that work too?

That is actually a problem with how the camera itself is soldered inside the phone. I can easily reverse the viewfinder but this will make all images and videos reversed.

I guess I need to find a way to make portrait direction work and hope it will solve all the issues

I think now the application is working more or less fine and it's time to start adding new features: fast capture (ZSL), timer, sequential shots and others.

I will not be available for the next month so I am not sure I will work on adding more features but let's see

And here goes 0.0.13
* Fixed bad graphics for capture buttons
* Fixed icons for capture buttons not aligned vertically
* New share and delete icons from mcbook
* Don't use Sunset white balance mode. Use Daylight instead which is the correct mode

Enjoy

To get the most out of the feedback from the community I'd like to make a list of all ideas on how to improve camera+ even more!

bugs/stuff:
  • picture zoom in the gallery doesn't reveal more picture details like in the builtin gallery... pics just get pixelated...
  • camera+ seems to require a constant internet connection, because it keeps asking if I'm not connected...
    Probably due to geotags feature...
This is kind of a problem if I'm abroad and want to take pictures
  • ....

UI improvment ideas:
  • I'd love it if you can change the border around a set toolbar icon (it's now kind of an elleptical shape and I think that a rectangle with rounded corners would look better)
  • the color of those set preferences as well as all pressed buttons should be brighter e.g. somthing like #0080FF
(I took a look at the qml files for that and I think that the color is set to "blue" (#0000FF))
  • another thing I noticed is, that (especially for the filters) some labels would be good. not sure how to fit them in though....
  • someone in the forum already mentioned that I think. However, it would be cool if you can increase the area around the buttons for recognizing the pressed event.
That would prevent an accidental change of the focus if you are not that precise when hitting a button....
  • ...
  • ...

additional features:
  • ...
  • ...
  • ...

feel free to contribute!
