Sheon, you were seeing T-Mobile 3G, not at&t 3G.
Odd that the speed test shows AT&T as the ISP though.

And i really dont think that TMo would show a different operators name *while* its their own network which is being used.

Something is definitely odd, lets see if other users in Reno see the same.

ip is at&t also according to dig. This is either a very elaborate hoax involving some decent photoshopping or he has indeed stumbled upon an LTE pilot site.

to be sure there is no funny roaming going on, I suggest you repeat this with the following setup:

1. goto settings->phone
2. change network mode to 3G
3. change data roaming to 'always ask'
4. change network selection to manual, wait for it to scan, and see what pops up. If AT&T is running LTE and it defaults to hspa for 3G, then you *may* see 2 AT&T entries once the scan is complete. One will have 2G beside it, the other 3G.

Post results and screenshots back here. Esp screenshot of the manual scan result! Thanks.

i have at&t with excellent coverage here in Metairie LA. No such 3g connection when setting the mode to 3g as there shouldnt be. . fact is this is nonsense. It would be easy enough to prove with a video of him setting the band in the phone settings to 3g only and show us that it connects after showing us the sim. silly thread should be closed.
