thanks to you all for the great work, i applied the slimjim http/https fix which worked for me.

i am wondering though if the skip limit stuff has changed. it used to be that i would never run into any skip limit at all. nowadays, after twelve songs, my pyradio will sort of freeze, and the rest of the day it will act just like prior to http/https fix, next day it is fine. it seems like it counts song changes as skips too, as it doesnt matter if the song plays all the way.

it doesnt bother me, i dont use it a ton, just wondering.

Note the following message on your second xterm screenshot...
Code:
Exception: Access not allowed due to licensing restrictions for your country (186.42.x.x)
This is a known behavior, and because you're outside the US, you have to use a (US) proxy to access Pandora. (I assume your comment about "access vpn application" was related to this, but I don't understand the comment.)

All of this output looks normal to me. I don't see any messages relating an error, so I don't have any way to troubleshoot this. If you continue to have problems, please keep running pyRadio from xterm and see if you are able to capture any additional information. (And I don't think you have to run the app as root.)

Yes, this is a new issue that we'll have to deal with. When I work on getting the HTTP/HTTPS fix moved into the repository, I will try to include a GUI message for this error. Unfortunately, this is pretty much a "Game Over" message, and you have to wait until the next day for the count to reset. (I'm not sure when/how that reset occurs... is it 24 hours or just the next 12:00AM?)

Well that just sucks. That would almost be enough for me to start looking at alternatives to Pandora. Slacker Radio or something. Of course.. none of them offer open API's but might be able to find something like pianobar..

Fatalsaint be possible in a single application include Slacker radio and Grooveshark. It would be perfect. I have been for days attentive to this thread I look forward to an update of this great application

Unfortunately this would require a lot of work. Because I'm on Android now there isn't a ton of incentive for me to implement something like that. I'm open to helping someone out with it.

It looks like Grooveshark has an API though (http://developers.grooveshark.com/) - That would actually be quite nice. Someone could request API access to Grooveshark and then modify pyRadio to support Pandora + Grooveshark (keeping in mind you'd have to enable the ads and grooveshark message when someone selected to play from Grooveshark. Definitely not a bad compromise.)

Slacker doesn't have something like that.. so it would require someone to either find an app that has already reverse engineered their API - or do it themselves which is insanely time-consuming.

ETA:
You could cheat, using something like this:
http://digg.com/newsbar/topnews/Linu...or_Slacker_com

Which essentially loads the 'mini' player of slacker into a little python widget window. But it would still be flash, bulky, and resource intensive .

I have run pyRadio from the terminal several times and the output is below. pyRadio will open if I run it as user, but, there are no messages in the terminal. Sometimes as user it logs me in so my stations are present and sometimes not. I only get a white screen with the arrow buttons, thumbs up/down and the station listbox.

If I run it as root I get output in the terminal but pyRadio still only shows the buttons thumbs and listbox, but, my stations always appear.

I've waited as long as ten minutes for it to start playing.

Terminal output:

You should not need to run it as root.

The no output at all as a user is very strange though. What device are you on? Are you selecting a station after your station list loads? Pressing the Play button? You said 'waited up to 10 minutes to play' - after what? Just launching? Hitting a button?

Any additional details appreciated.
