Installing this using open-mode only:

After trying:

Code:
wget http://meegoforum.pl//download/system-ui_1.3.2-1+0m8_armel.deb

export AEGIS_FIXED_ORIGIN=com.nokia.maemo

dpkg -i system-ui_1.3.2-1+0m8_armel.deb
I get only this:

I then proceeded with the installation of the control panel applets

Code:
wget http://meegoforum.pl//download/duicontrolpanel-ledapplet_0.0.2-1_armel.deb
wget http://meegoforum.pl//download/duicontrolpanel-ledapplet-l10n-additional_0.0.2-1_all.deb

dpkg -i duicontrolpanel-ledapplet_0.0.2-1_armel.deb

dpkg -i duicontrolpanel-ledapplet-l10n-additional_0.0.2-1_all.deb
Everything installed fine. The LED notification shows in the settings and all. But when I try to mis-call my phone or sent a text message to it, no LED notification.

Already tried to re-boot my N9. No dice.

Is it because of the error in the Open mode installation? Do I really need to install inception, too?

The error says you don't have open mode... Are you sure you are in open mode?

Hmm... I followed the instructions in the first page:

First I did these set of codes:

Code:
devel-su
#password
wget http://meegoforum.pl//download/system-ui_1.3.2-1+0m8_armel.deb
export AEGIS_FIXED_ORIGIN=com.nokia.maemo
dpkg -i system-ui_1.3.2-1+0m8_armel.deb
and then the set of control panel applets.....

Or did I just miss something PRIOR to installing the first set of codes

Those commands are for the installation of system-ui not open mode...

Open mode must be gotten from http://depot.javispedro.com/nit/harm...free/k/kernel/ or from nitdroid's dual-boot kernel and --flash-only=kernel must be done...only then can you be classified as to having open mode...

Oh! How noob of me!

This maybe out of my league, already! I was thinking I could just install the kernel_2.6.32-20121301+0m8.tar.gz file like a normal .deb file...

Well, I guess I'll just stop before I mess up my phone.

Thank you and apologies for taking much of your time.

Well at this point its not advisable to put your phone into open mode...its best done when you want to reflash so you can take out the warranty void message beforehand too...

At this point inception would do you better as after flashing open mode kernel you will have to delete all your accounts before re-adding them and you will lose the ability to set a device lock...

Edit:

For those who want to really put their phone into open mode without reflashing follow CODeRUS' instructions on http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84659

(ORIGINAL POST DELETED AND EDITED)

Friends,

Sorry for the previously long post; I got it sorted now. The LED notifications via system-ui indeed has been merged into unrestricted-system-ui. Apparently MAG made mention of it in Post #226 of the Unrestricted-System-UI Thread. The posts at the first 2 pages of this thread confused me (...that it conflicts with unrestricted-system-ui as the toggles will break/disappear).

I'm using System UI Extensions and I want this led too . I've installed them using the following code from first page but it doesn't seem to work . Is it compatible with system ui extensions ?

Code:
wget http://meegoforum.pl//download/duicontrolpanel-ledapplet_0.0.2-1_armel.deb
wget http://meegoforum.pl//download/duicontrolpanel-ledapplet-l10n-additional_0.0.2-1_all.deb
dpkg -i duicontrolpanel-ledapplet_0.0.2-1_armel.deb
dpkg -i duicontrolpanel-ledapplet-l10n-additional_0.0.2-1_all.deb

Hm, I don't know. What I do know (and recently learned...had a very long post where I documented everything I did, and then finally edited) is that this LED notifications is already integrated with Unrestricted-system-ui (and hence, MT-Toggles of MAG).

In my (previously unedited) long post, I was stuck in a situation where I had to decide which Toggles to use (MAG's or coderus) due to LED Notifications. But now I got it sorted out, so I ended up using MAG's Toggles.

Apologies if my response was not of much help.

EDIT: By the way, this app (LED notifications via system-ui) has already been integrated in MAG's unrestricted-system-ui. And if you add MAG's repo, you can get MT-Toggles, actual Toggles, and LED notifications via apt-get command. I added this edit for the benefit of future readers/users since I actually got confused with the initial posts, which prompted me to embark on my "journey" to figure it out, lol...
