This is a good idea!
I implemented it quick 'n dirty as I have to test later how to get a parameter that closes the server and register a global variable in maemo :>

I have attached a new build.
Install this and then you can test it with "/opt/qwifisms/bin/qwifisms 192.168.2.14" for example. The parameter is just the IP.
The mainwindow will be hidden after starting, so you will not see an error or something like this but it should come a popup that the client has connected.

To close the server hit ctrl + c in the console. I don't know how to do this when you script so please tell me how if you get it working!

I hope this works for you

Maybe we will find somebody who agrees to code a linux port of the server.
How the server communicates with the client is described here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=74043
And it will be possible to get the source code of the server as it is online with svn on assembla. This makes it easier to migrate the C#-Code to linux.
If the code is C# it should be possible to run it on Linux using Mono, or am I missing something? :P
Bye!

Is mono .NET compatible? This would be really cool. Then it should run without problems

Mono IS a .NET Linux framework so it should work as far as you use only assemblies which are supported by the Mono version you have installed on your system.
You could simply try to recompile your sources with Mono and run your server on your linux box.
Bye
