Hi,

I am looking for the location of the settings for various programs.
To be clearer: I am [finally] upgrading from chinook to diablo, and I want to keep all of my personal settings.

so far, I found:
/home/user/*
/usr/share/*

anywhere else I should look for?

the main programs I want to keep are canola and mytube. direct links to their settings can also help.

Thank you

Use the Backup/Restore app you have pre-installed on your ITT. Navigate to your menu > Settings > Backup/Restore.

Then follow the on-screen instructions.

nope, doesn't help at all.

I am rebuilding my system; not upgrading it.
I do not want to keep all the software I have now, and I want to reset the settings in other software. This is why I need to keep the data for each program individually.

I finished looking, and the two places I pointed to are those containing everything I need.
Problem solved.

Don't forget /home/user/.* and /media/mmc? might contain data as well. If you have further questions ask for the specific application you want to retain settings of. In general, you either use Backup/Restore or you do it manually.
