I'm sorry I remembered wrong I downloaded it.
I had extra-testing and extra-devel enabled when I did an apt-get install

I got the plugin from here:
http://bundyo.org/maemo/mplayerplugi...50-1_armel.deb
and installed it with dpkg -i mplayerplug-in_3.50-1_armel.deb

I deleted the settings in /home/user/.mplayer/config

I made a new /home/user/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf:

vo=xv
ao=alsa
cachesize=4096
cache-percent=25
noembed=1
framedrop=1
softvol=0
prefer-aspect=0
download=0
keep-download=0
dload-dir=/home/user/MyDocs
qt-speed=high
showtime=0
enable-wmp=1
enable-qt=1
enable-rm=1
enable-gmp=1
enable-dvx=1
enable-mpeg=1
enable-mp3=1
enable-ogg=1
enable-midi=0
enable-pls=1
enable-smil=1
enable-helix=1
nomediacache=0
nopauseonhide=0
rtsp-use-tcp=0
rtsp-use-http=0

You mean Diablo Extras-devel... Anyway, I'm the maintainer of the Diablo version; putting it in Fremantle's extras-devel isn't out of the question - if it works well, that is.

I downloaded it from here: http://maemo.org/packages/view/mplayerplug-in/

I tried to add .flv, with no success of course.
http://www.nrk.no/nett-tv/ started, with embedded mplayer but it got stuck on connecting...

Is it possible to make it play in the actual mplayer withour being embedded in a web page?

@bec did you change the settings in mplayerplug-in.conf?
I don't know if the settings for setting speed on nrk-nett tv, and if it works outside Norway. Maybe you have to reboot to get it inside microb?

I used mplayerplug-in_3.50-1_armel.deb and not the 3.55, but don't think that should be a problem.

You could try changing settings in mplayerplug-in.conf
http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/config.php

noembed=0 would start mplayer inside the web. I used noembed=1 since it worked better for me.
My mplayerplug-in.conf now only has one line: noembed=1

I upgraded the plugin to the 3.55 and it still worked.

With noembed=1 you can use the keystrokes on the keyboard sending mplayer-commands.

I'm going to bumpety-bump this thread as I'm interested in something along these lines as well.

I tried the stuff pictured above, but I can't get the package to install as its missing some dependencies. And are those packages for Diablo anyway?

More than anything, I would want for embedded videos to open in CuteTube or another app of the users choice. Are we any closer to obtaining this?

I've also approached the developer of CuteTube on this matter.
