Hey everyone!

I wonder if there is a possibility to install vim on the Nokia N9. The builtin vi is nice, but I'm missing features like syntax highlighting, undo-redo functionalities, etc...
There seems to be no package in the official repositories:

Code:
~ $ devel-su
Password:
BusyBox v1.20.0.git (MeeGo 3:1.20-0.2+0m8) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
~ # apt-get install vim
Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut
Status-Informationen einlesen... Fertig
E: Paket vim konnte nicht gefunden werden
~ # apt-cache search vim
~ #
I don't know how, but there surely is a way to compile vim source code for the N9. I'm not really familiar with gcc and co. Any ideas or links to tutorials?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Things are strange sometimes... I already tried the openrepos version some time after posting my question here, but it was neither installable via clicking on it in Filebox ("invalid package") nor via command line ~ # dpkg -i vim....... ("... not user package")...
I was probably just being stupid and missed something back then.

Unfortunately, this version of vim really is ugly. In the preinstalled vi you can at least use the arrow and delte keys to navigate in insert mode. Here, this produces stupid capital letters and does not remove characters as desired...

Geez, one is not easily satisfacted!
At least, you can go back one step with 'u', which is not possible in built-in vi for some stupid reason...

Thanks though!
