It would be interesting (to run strace) to see what application manager is really doing.
Let me know what you find.

Not sure if it's ASUI, but my tablet is crashing a lot, like every 15 minutes.
Also, asui still screws up the lock code screen if you boot on the charger.

Does it happen if you uninstall ASUI?

Also, asui still screws up the lock code screen if you boot on the charger.
Could you provide instructions so I can reproduce it? What lock code screen?

Do both have the community SSU or rotation support? What is the output when you run the advanced-systemui or advanced-systemui-test binary as root from console?

Code:
xrr: supported (90 148 1.2)

New test binary.

I separated all half widgets and made them position independant for the upcoming UI customization. You probably won't notice the visible changes but a lot of UI code was modified and there could be some new bugs.

Added setting to hide ASUI when using the on-screen lock buttons (long or short). It defaults to enabled and is called lock_and_close if you don't want it.

@wnd
Added support for dropbear. If you long press the ssh widget it will cycle between openssh and dropbear. Let me know if it starts/stops the service and displays the correct size and number of clients.

To reproduce it, set a lock code. You can set one in control panel, or when you set 'lock device' from the system menu before asui. Then power off, and plug in the charger. Wait for it to boot to asui (showing the charge and stuff). Turning the tablet on 'power button hold' gives me a white screen (lock code screen should code up). I press power, and asui shows many services half on (yellow/grey dots instead of just 1 dot). Desktop is off, and turning it on yields a buggy desktop that skips the lock code, ruining the use of it.

@ mgamerz
Does it work fine if you edit /etc/asui-svc and change ASUI_CHARGING to false?

New test binary.

Only one new feature in this test release, a customizable layout.

Swipe the button bar to switch to the secondary page, tap the "edit widgets" button to enter edit mode. Tap a widget, it turns blue, tap another widget or empty cell to swap/move it. If you swap a full widget with a half widget then both halves swap with the full. When moving a half widget to a full widget the side you tap in the full widget will be the location of the half widget and its other half will move to the side you didn't tap.

If you change pages with a widget selected it will show up on the button bar of the other page. Tapping the selected widget or the representation on the button bar will unselect it.

Exit edit mode, switch to the other orientation and repeat. The layout is saved immediately after moving a widget. Don't tamper with the gconf settings in /apps/asui_state, bad widget values will upset ASUI and it will revert them all back to defaults.

Enjoy!
