Eh? Brightness and volume sliders have been in the events view since 1.1.9.
You can also add a shortcut to Utilities and all your other frequently used actions.

pichlo is right. You don't even need that patch. It was just me wrongly assuming that those settings came with the patch.

I do - that's how I freed up a gig of that space. I'm not really sure what else to do, because I don't know how much space I actually need.

I have the brightness slider in the """"""pulley menu"""""" on the Events screen, no need for the Settings application.
