Is there a laywer around here to explain?
I wonder why two of the patents notices (at the bottom of About Product in Jolla device and at chapter 14 of this Sailfish EULA http://jolla.com/sailfish-eula) have to be written IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
Do they feel more authoritative?
Don't they know it's bad netiquette?

It saves battery. One bit less to be set for each letter.
Otherwise I cannot think of any reason either.

It puzzles me too. Maybe they think you are more likely to notice it but every tech-savvy person can tell them that most people are in fact more likely to ignore it. Unless that is the agenda of course. To hide any gotchas amongst all the capitals.

I just always assumed it is just another of those lawyer thingies, as they do so much of the **** I could not care less anyway

My eyes kind of avoid thst stuff and I tend to roll that down really quickly on the cases you have to go down the whole page to push the accept button...

It's MPEG LA's notices specifically, and they probably standardised their license documents in fullcaps.
