A very simple question. How do v change the background colour of xterminal to make it black with white font?

click on the top bar where it says x terminal and then click font.
there will be 2 boxes for the colour, one for background and one for font. dont know which one is which but just experiment and ull find it out
happy x-terminalling!

edit: beat you to it EzInKy

Click on the menubar, then click on font, then choose your colors at the bottom of the screen.

I wish there was a button to toggle saved settings. white backround does not jump out to me but is much more readable outside while black backround is much better when you are not in direct sunlight.

I more would like to see an option to have a background picture, or even transparency option.
That would make it even more geeky

This is the problem with all of us N900 owners. Other phones don't even have a command line with root access. We do, and we complain that it doesn't have a transparent background!

Seriously, though, I'm glad I spotted this tip. My terminal looks so much better with green on black.

Are you sure that's not the 'screen' that shows before the program fully loads? The same 'feature' that makes the N900's setting menu often look like it's loading without a new setting applet, which then appears after a few seconds (because first it loads the outdated screen-shot, then it loads up the fully program properly).

Or does it work differently for X-Term?
