The other one was a small kernel update. For all I remember, it may have been a security update.

So low.

Pretty sure it'll only be a few weeks before there's a reliable rootkit that disables this wonderful feature (and hopefully the remaining non-optional parts of Metro).

Either until then, or permanently, I won't touch W10, despite it being a huge improvement over 8 in UI and features, and 7 (& 8) in performance.

BTW, this Windows iteration might be more fun than usual as Microsoft apparently fired most of their QA staff about a year ago. So I advise everybody to keep popcorn at the ready. :-)

I'll be honest... it's not bad. It's not great, and my usage is limited to my Microsoft Surface 3. But it's a weird combo of tablet user experience expectations and desktop expectations. Where things have moved, makes no sense sometimes. Sometimes it does.

Better than KDE3. But I've been using it only for the last 12 hours give or take. I'd suggest actually using it as opposed to talking about it without any or limited experience.

I messed around for a bit with 8
and if 10 [as some reviews compare it] is a frankenstein of 7 and 8 ...no thanks.
I use a portege m780 convertible tablet pc as my main for work...
I do admit I enjoy tablet xp and 7 on it for some programs...and a variety of linux for others...but I found 8 uncomfortable...awkward.
So 8 wasn't for me and if 10 is comparable [from what little I've seen of reviews] I doubt is for me.

I'll be harsh with this...

If you're a programmer that doesn't use Visual Studio; stay away. If you're a Linux-only lover, stay way away. If you're engaged with any part of the creative side - try it out. If you're engaged with a Microsoft shop, get used to it. And if you're curious, try the ****ing thing first and get your own take on it.

I'm a dev that uses mostly web tech and I'm an UX/UI designer and I require some tools that are Mac mostly, but venture into the IXD side of things a bit as well.

Windows 10 finally has virtual desktops. This is a game changer for me. I've had it on the Mac for ages. Linux, even longer.

I'd say it's the best parts of Windows 7 and what Windows 8 should have been. If you switch to tablet mode, you're into Windows 8 mode - steer clear if you hated Windows 8.

So given that. I'd say try it. It's just another tool. This love/hate thing, I don't subscribe to it. I just use whatever tool is in front of me, and use it well.

Note: My wife hates it... it's slowing her down something fierce. I can admit it and see it.
