Its hard to tell if it will work or not without one able to physically test the cable.

USB host mode on the N900 is not enabled by default and requires a hack to get it working.
see here for more info including suggested cable solutions.
insane amount of hard work went into this to get it to the stage its at, so make sure you thank the appropriate people if you use it!!!
