I reflashed my tablet (n800 OS2008 52-3) and after the reinstall of applications one of my apps (The Mana World) is showing up in the Extras menu about 8 times, and seems everytime I reboot there is one or 2 more.

I looked in /usr/share/applications/hildon/ and there is only 1 tmw.desktop file (even with ls -a) in fact I searched all over /share and /share/applications/ trying to find them and I can not find any other .desktop files.

Where could these files be hiding and how can I delete them from the Extras menu? I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, and while they went away after it was uninstalled, they all came back as soon as I reinstalled it.

Before the reflash I had it installed with one icon and it was fine..

What are the contents of your tmw.desktop file?

It is:

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=The Mana World
Comment=An on-line fantasy role playing game
Exec=/usr/games/tmw --username=Removed --password=removed
StartupNotify=false
Terminal=false
X-HildonDesk-ShowInToolbar=true
Type=Application
Icon=tmw
Categories=Application;Game

I added the username and password so I could log in without needing a BT keyboard.

I looked in there (thanks for pointing that one out, I didn't see it previously...)

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 44 2008-02-29 13:22 0112_mauku.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/mauku.desktop
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 59 2008-01-18 09:34 0300_osso_rss_feed_reader.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/osso_rss_feed_reader.desktop
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 2008-01-18 09:34 0301_osso-xterm.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/osso-xterm.desktop

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2008-03-02 10:30 extra_applications

and in extra_applications is

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 2008-02-29 13:27 0000_mplayer.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/mplayer.desktop
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 47 2008-02-29 13:32 0112_rdesktop.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/rdesktop.desktop

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 51 2008-02-29 13:26 maemo-wordpy.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/maemo-wordpy.desktop
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 45 2008-02-29 14:51 quetoo.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/quetoo.desktop
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 42 2008-02-29 13:31 uqm.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/hildon/uqm.desktop

Seems that everything in there is a link to usr/share/applications/somthing and there isn't any tmw.desktop files I can find.

Thanks,

-John
