Hi, i am an happy n900 owner, but i am sad with only maemo5. I want to explore Nemo, the new opensource mobile operating system. But i don't want to use uboot, multiboot or installing on emmc. I want to have it from my boot menu when i select load from the SD. i have my nemo sd, but i want it to boot from the boot menu(sd boot selection). Is it possible or i will lose fanoush bootmenu?

p.s: possible for nitroid too?

Thanks guys, i really want my sweet n900 to shine

Not sure if you can boot without uboot/multi boot.

I installed last week and it didn't excite me, its slow and no apps. Back to maemo.

But appreciate hardwork of developers keeping the project live.

Nemo and NITDroid require a different kernel to be loaded in order to run. Bootmenu can not load alternative kernels. if you want to use Nemo without installing u-boot, you can flash the kernel from your p.c., and then use bootmenu to select the correct operating system for the kernel you loaded This is inconvenient.. The best way is to use u-boot.

Why do you want to avoid u-boot? It's the best available tool for what you're trying to do.

Extras-devel not required. All instructions in first post.

Friends,

Uboot-pr13 + nemo image on sd card will do the require. I installed it today. Issue with Nemo is about Voice Call and scrolling. No cellular network is there and scrolling is not smooth.

Well, i always loved to have tons of operating systems on my systems. Maemo miss a lot of packages and software only available on Nemo/android/etc.
So it's why i want to install an other operating system. I love the n900, a great phone, but i really do need an alternative to maemo.
